The Gifted and Talented Dance program at Hampton SHS is endorsed by the Department of Education in Western Australia. It is designed to challenge children with exceptional creative talent to achieve at the highest level and prepares students for a range of career opportunities in the Arts sector.

Students selected for this elite Contemporary Dance Program develop their technical skills through the study of multiple dance genres and styles, taught by a range of Specialist teachers.

HSHS dancers are given access to a range of performance opportunities to showcase their choreographic and performance skills throughout the year.

Students study Contemporary Dance in the areas of technique, improvisation and performance, with an emphasis on the development of composition. The theoretical focus is on dance analysis and Australian contemporary dance companies. Students are also provided with the opportunity to develop skills in Hip Hop, Jazz and Tap dance.
