The Hampton Senior High School Board works closely with the School Executive to ensure that our students’ needs are met first and foremost.
We are committed to developing our next generation of proud and resilient citizens, by promoting the school in our local community, assisting the process of setting the long-term direction of the school and providing the expertise and support that allows the school to achieve the best outcomes for our students.
School Principal

Commencing as Principal in 2022, Tracy Griffiths values the tremendous role the School Board plays in supporting Hampton SHS’s commitment to high expectations for students and staff, partnered with effective support. Working in school leadership roles over the past 15 years, Tracy has a passion for ensuring that equity, diversity and inclusivity are at the forefront of all plans and decisions, using a highly data driven and evidenced based approach.
With a significant whole school focus on community engagement, Tracy finds the collaborative approach of the Hampton SHS Board highly effective in fostering significant school improvement.
Board Chair

Amanda Ghouse is a dedicated financial advocate and educator with over two decades of experience in the banking, financial counselling, and advocacy sectors. As the Chair of the Hampton Senior High School Board, she brings a wealth of expertise in governance, financial literacy, and community engagement.
Currently serving as a Financial Advocacy Officer at Advocare, Amanda empowers older Australians by providing education and support in navigating aged care services and financial matters. Previously, she has worked as a Financial Capability Coordinator at Midlas, where she delivered financial education programs, counselling, and coaching to individuals and community groups.
Amanda’s career spans roles in financial services, compliance, and business development, including positions at Bankwest, Bank of Queensland, and Loan Market. She is highly regarded for her ability to facilitate impactful workshops, advocate for consumer rights, and support individuals in achieving financial well-being.
Community Representatives

On accepting the invitation in 2023 to join the Board as a Community Board Member; Bernie Foley representing the Rotary Club of West Perth saw this as a great opportunity to engage and assist students and educators on their journey through secondary education. As the Youth Director for his Rotary Club and still working after 20 years in Early Preventive Health and Safety Education for Children, Bernie is very passionate about the issues and challenges young people face on their journey through adolescent and the resilience and skills they require to cope. He strongly believes in working as a team at all levels along with community engagement to achieving outcomes that can assist young students of Hampton through their school years and beyond.

Community member Jacquelyn Pavy has been involved with the School Board since 2015. She was also President of the P & C for 7 years where she implemented the complete overhaul of the school canteen which has now become the most successful it has ever been.
A former Alumni graduating in 1988, her son also attended Hampton graduating in 2019. She has been involved in the Mining industry for the last 28 years starting out as an Accounts Clerk to now being the Finance Manager.

Sarah is a dedicated member of the Hampton SHS Board, bringing over 30 years of leadership in governance, policy, and community engagement. A mother of three adult children, she is deeply committed to equity, inclusivity and student wellbeing. Alongside her board work, Sarah runs a healing practice that is accessible to all and fosters community. She has extensive experience on school boards and her collaborative, evidence-based approach aligns with Hampton SHS’s vision, ensuring every student can thrive.
A passionate advocate for education and empowerment, Amanda is committed to fostering a strong school community where students thrive. Her leadership and dedication to financial literacy contribute to her vision of a well-informed and financially resilient society.
Parent Representatives

Todd is a father of three, of which, the two eldest attend Yr 7 and 9 at Hampton S.H.S. Currently he works as a Senior Firefighter with DFES, where he has been for the past 14 years. Prior to this, he worked for 16 years as a Secondary Health and Physical Education teacher in numerous government schools across WA. He has held several roles on the committee of the O.G.M. Hockey Club in the past. In his spare time he enjoys mountain biking, travelling and anything outdoors.

Brendon is a parent of a Year 7 student who joined Hampton SHS in 2025. He is an experienced educator with over 25 years of teaching in Western Australian public schools and is currently working at a government high school in the northern suburbs. Brendon is passionate about public education and brings both professional and parenting perspectives to his role on the board.
Drawn to Hampton’s values of aspiration, innovation and achievement—as well as its strong focus on Positive Behaviour Support—Brendon looks forward to contributing meaningfully as a parent and community member, supporting the school’s ongoing growth and success.
Staff Representatives

Fiona is the Manager, Corporate Services at Hampton SHS since 2022 and has brought with her a wealth of knowledge and energy. She has previously worked at Alinjarra Primary School in a similar capacity but was looking to expand her experiences to encompass a high school environment.
During her time at Hampton numerous building projects have come to fruition to ensure that all staff and students work in a safe and inviting environment. Coupled with the improvements in the grounds, classrooms and communal areas, Fiona is ensuring the longevity of the Hampton brand.
Finance and budgeting are also part of her role, including managing the Finance Committee and all long-term asset replacement plans. Management of all non-teaching staff is also part of her role. Fiona is the MCS Network Leader for Morley Schools Network.

Debra Hawthorne has been privileged to work with many talented and enthusiastic people throughout her education journey. She began her career as a Special Needs EA at Hampton SHS while studying to become a Home Economics teacher. Over the years, Debra spent time observing great colleagues who equipped her with the knowledge and skills to launch her teaching career.
In 2023, returning to Hampton SHS felt like coming home. Her educational journey has fuelled her passion, drive, and enthusiasm to inspire the best in her students. Debra believes that students should not only achieve success but also create meaningful experiences for those around them.

Ben has 5 years of experience teaching Mathematics at Hampton SHS as well as 3 years as a Year Co-Ordinator (Currently year 10). Ben is actively involved in the school community as a Bushrangers cadet leader, a member of the Positive Behaviour in Schools action group, and as the lower school basketball coach.
Ben enjoys travelling and living an active lifestyle.
As a member of the school board, Ben hopes to have a positive impact on Hampton SHS and the wider community.
