At Hampton we understand that the move to high school can be both exciting and uncertain time for students and their parents. Students who are enrolled to commence high school at Hampton are invited to attend an Orientation day in Term 4. We also have an information session and welcome and encourage parents/carers to attend.
The structure of the timetable for Year 7s is planned to reduce the uncertainty of transitioning to high school. This is done through having two main teachers who form the core of the Year 7 Community, for English/Humanities and Maths/Science instead of four.
Our year 7 students form strong relationships with their teachers, who not only deliver the Year 7 curriculum, but also help to develop individual organisational and interpersonal skills and care for your child for the greater part of each week.
Students will also experience a range of other learning contexts with the Arts (Visual and Performing arts), Health and Physical Education, and Digital and Design Technologies which are semester long courses. Some students will be a part of Enrichment programs and this may vary their timetable.
We have a strong focus on expecting students to take responsibility for their learning by maintaining regular and punctual attendance, wearing our school uniform daily with pride, embracing our school culture of Aspire, Innovate, Achieve and follow our school Code of Conduct. In doing so, we are able to provide all students a safe learning environment and opportunities to grow and excel.
